Together as le désert mauve, Gabrielle and Charline use soft audiovisual synthesis to provide delicate experiences that oscillate between fluid landscapes, neverending views, and microscopic dances. They develop slow, subtle progressions that erode at notions of time. Mémoires continentales was born during a residency at Rolland-Brunelle, Joliette, in rural Quebec. It explores the porosity between bodies and landscapes; proximity and large scale, in an attempt to blur the imaginary boundaries created between human and non-human.
